Manchester United could be set to trump the club's £59.7m transfer record after being offered Real Madrid's Colombian midfielder James Rodriguez for a whopping £60m, according to a report in the Daily Star.
Real Madrid are reportedly ready to let the 24-year-old move on in the summer, after he has only managed to play 25 times in the league for Los Blancos this season.
And Manchester United, who bought Angel Di Maria from the Spanish giants for £59.7m two years ago, were Madrid's first port of call. The player's agent, the infamous Jorge Mendes, reportedly offered Rodriguez to Man Utd, but for no less than £60m.
United to sign James Rodriguez for £60m? If I was working in the PSG club shop I would start getting the shirts with his name on printed now

Mendes was seen in Manchester in April, but it was expected that the 'super agent' was attempting to iron out a deal for Jose Mourinho to replace Louis van Gaal, which if it goes through, could accelerate a potential move for James Rodriguez.
Real Madrid signed the Colombian international from AS Monaco for a staggering £71m in 2014, and despite Rodriguez's solid form that has seen him net 20 league goals in 54 games over two seasons, Zinedine Zidane is already reportedly looking to the likes of Chelsea's Cesc Fabgregas to replace James.
Zidane's side came close, but not close enough to winning La Liga on Saturday. Madrid finished an excruciating one point behind arch-rivals Barcelona, despite being 13 points behind earlier in the season.
